Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. – Psalm 72:18

This name has two parts. First He is the God of Israel. He sent His Son, the Messiah, Jesus, to Israel. I’m very grateful for Israel and the Jews. I’ve been learning Hebrew because I want to read the Bible in Hebrew, but I also want to go over to Israel again.

The second part of this name is the One who alone does marvelous deeds. What kind of marvelous deeds have you seen God do in your life? I’d encourage you to take some time today to think about, and maybe write down or share with a friend, some of the great things God has done for you.

It’s easy for us to focus on the negatives in our lives and forget about all the positive things that God has done. In any situation, we can choose if we are going to focus on the parts of it we don’t like, or focus on what is positive in it. Once a friend said some things that could have hurt me very deeply, but I decided (with God’s help) to focus on what was positive in my life (there are always positive things, regardless of how horrible things may seem. Just focusing on the Lord is always positive!) It was amazing how different my feelings were than if I’d focused on my hurt and pain. Our perspective is so important.

What are some of God’s marvelous deeds in your life?
