To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. – Revelation 1:5-6
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- Meditate on this verse and on the God who loves us. He showed His love to us by freeing us from our sins by His blood. This name is specifically referring to Jesus, because it was His blood that freed us from our sins. What an incredible way for Him to show us His love.
- Thank Jesus today for loving you so much that He showed His love by being willing to shed His blood for you. I can’t even begin to understand how much He loved us. It’s more than I can comprehend, but I’m so grateful. How about you?
- Look at what verse 6 says. The One who loves us made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God. Ask the Lord to reveal to you what that means.
- In Ephesians 3:14-19, Paul prays that we will be able to grasp “the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love” (MSG). I’ve been studying and meditating on this whole passage. I’m amazed at all God keeps showing me. I encourage you to meditate on it too. It will change your life when you begin to understand God’s great love for you.
A Prayer for You
Lord, I’m so grateful You loved me enough to bring me freedom from my sins by Your blood. That was a very high price to pay to show me Your love. Help me to begin to grasp the extravagant dimensions of Your love for me.
