The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. – Exodus 15:2 NIV
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- How is God your song? If you’re not sure, ask Him.
- God gives me songs, but is that the same as Him being my song? Think about that.
- I’ve seen God as my song as He often puts a song in my heart. I find that throughout the day I’m singing or humming a song. Sometimes it’s one I’ve known before. Sometimes it is a new song. Ask God to be your song and put a song in your heart.
- Ask the Lord to show you what His song is for you right now.
- Zephaniah 3:17 says that God rejoices over you with singing. What song is He singing over you today? Stop and listen. Ask Him to let you hear—and see—Him singing over you. You won’t hear Him unless you slow down long enough to listen.
A Prayer for You
Lord, thank You that You are my Song. Reveal Yourself to me more as my Song. I want to continually have Your Song in my heart. And I want to hear You singing over me.
