“Teacher,” they said, “we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are.” – Matthew 22:16
Some things you can do today with God’s name
- The Pharisees were calling Him Teacher. In verse 24, the Sadducees called Him teacher. These were both Jewish religious groups. Yet they acknowledged that Jesus was a great Teacher (even if they were trying to trip Him up, by asking Him very difficult questions.) Jesus always had the perfect answer. What is a question you want to ask Him today? Ask, believing that He will answer. Then sit quietly and wait for Him to answer. He will answer, but sometimes we are too busy or have too much going on in our minds for us to hear his answer.
- Ask yourself, “How has Jesus been my teacher in the past?” And “How do I need or want Him to be my teacher today?”
- Thank Him for being your teacher. And thank Him for what He is teaching you about Himself from your study of His names.
