“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Revelation 1:8 ESV
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- Alpha is the first letter in the Greek alphabet. Omega is the last one. God is the first and the last. He was before all things and He will be there to the very end—which, since He has no end, will be a very long time.
- Meditate on this name. Ask the Lord to reveal more about Who He is.
- This name is only found three times in the Bible. Read and meditate on the other two verses:
He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.’ – Revelation 21:6
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. – Revelation 22:13
A Prayer for You
Lord, I choose to start over afresh with You. I want to know You in deeper ways. I want to grow in my love for You. Reveal to me more about this name, the Alpha and Omega.
