Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer. – Psalm 4:1 NIV

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately

  • Tsedek means righteousness or righteous. The definition of righteous is morally upright; without guilt or sin.
  • As a righteous God, He expects us to be righteous and holy as He is holy. In what areas are you struggling to live a righteous life? God is forgiving and merciful if you come to Him and tell Him how you are struggling and ask for forgiveness. But we need to be careful that we don’t sin, expecting Him to forgive us.
  • What does it mean to you that God is your righteous God?
  • This verse is David’s prayer. What can you learn from it that can help you when you are feeling stressed and distressed? How can it help you manage your stress?
  • Spend some time talking to the Righteous One, your Righteous God.

A Prayer for You

My Righteous God, I praise You for Your righteousness and holiness. Thank You that You are a personal God. Even though You know I am not perfect, You still love me and want to be my Righteous God. Thank You that what Jesus did on the cross made me righteous in Your eyes.
