The One enthroned in heaven laughs; he scoffs at them. – Psalm 2:4

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately

  • Your God is the One who is enthroned in Heaven. Stop and consider what that means. Ask God to reveal Himself seated on His throne.
  • Ephesians 2:6 says that we “are seated with Him in the heavenly realms.” Ask Him to show you what that looks like. Since He is seated on a throne, that means that you must be too. What does it mean to you that you are seated with the Lord?
  • The One who is on the throne has all power and authority. God has that, and you do too, since you are seated with Him. You have authority over your enemy, but you have a choice whether you’ll use it or not. Doing spiritual warfare is using the authority God has given you.
  • Look what God is doing in this verse. He is laughing at the people who are trying to fight against Him (see verses 1-3). Close your eyes and ask the Lord to show you His humorous side. If you’re like me, you may think of Him as always being serious.
  • God is on His throne right now. Worship the One who is enthroned in Heaven.

A Prayer for You

One Enthroned in Heaven, I worship You today, because You have all power and authority over Heaven and Earth. I give You power over my life. Thank You that because of Jesus, I am seated with You in the heavenly realms. Teach me to live in that place, using the authority I have from You.
