For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. – Ephesians 5:23 NLT
This name in Greek is Soter Soma.
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- Soma means body. Jesus is your personal Savior, soter, but He is also the Savior of His Body, the Church. Consider how Jesus is the Savior of His Body.
- The Greek word sozo is the root of soter. It means the One who saves, heals, delivers and makes us whole.
- I do a one-on-one ministry with people called Sozo. It’s exciting to watch God work in people’s lives bringing wholeness, deliverance and healing.
- Ask the Lord to reveal to you more of this name today.
- What does it mean to you that God sozos you?
- Thank Him that He came as your Savior—the One who sozos you. Jesus did so much for us when He came.
- What did it cost Christ to be the Savior of His body, the Church?
- In what ways does He sozo the body?
A Prayer for You
Jesus, thank You for being my Savior, but also the Savior of Your whole body, the Church. When I have conflict with others in Your body, remind me that You came to save them too, not just me.
