Stand up and bless the Lord your God from everlasting to everlasting. Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. – Nehemiah 9:5 ESV
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately
- This name is Kabod Shem in Hebrew. Kabod means glory, glorious, weight, splendor and honor. Merriam-Webster defines glorious as, “possessing or deserving glory; marked by great beauty or splendor; delightful, wonderful.” Shem means name.
- How is the Lord’s name glorious? What do you think that means?
- How can you bless God’s Glorious Name today?
- How can you exalt it above all blessing and praise? You may need to ask the Lord to show you what this might look like. Then do it!
- I find that the more I praise and exalt the Lord’s name, the more I am filled with joy and peace. I never get tired of getting to know the Lord and His names. He is continually showing me new names that I never saw in the Word before. It’s amazing to think how many names the Lord has.
A Prayer for You
I bless Your Glorious Name. Show me how to bless Your name and exalt it. Teach me what it means that Your Name is Glorious.
